PLANNING YOUR VISIT

Visitor Information:

The Dey Mansion Washington's Headquarters is a historic house museum, listed on the State and National Register of Historic Places, curated to provide the visitor an experience of stepping back in time. As you walk through the front door you are transported back to the Colonial Era and the home of Col. Theunis Dey in the year 1780, when it served as General George Washington’s Headquarters.

 

The museum is operated and maintained by the County of Passaic. Visitors to the Dey Mansion can tour the historic house, view different exhibitions of the collections, and take part in a range of educational and public programming.

Tours are available by guided tour only Wednesday 1:00pm-4:00pm & Thurs-Sun from 10:00am - 4:00pm. All visitors should call in advance for the daily tour schedule as it is subject to change

Closed all major holidays including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and January 1

Group Visits and Tours:

Advance reservations are required for all adult and student groups of 10 or more, and for any third-party guided tours, regardless of size. For more information or to make a reservation, please call our offices at 973-706-6640.

Photography & Site-Use:

Permits are required for use of the grounds including all photography and for gatherings of more than 12 people. Please call our offices for more information. 973-706-6640

School Group Programs:
