The Dey Mansion derives it lasting fame as one of General George Washington’s military field headquarters. During the American Revolution, owner, Thenuis Dey served as Colonel of the Bergen County Militia, which brought him into constant communication with Washington. The presentation will cover the stories surrounding Washington’s stay in the Preakness Valley through various artifacts from the Mansion’s military and early American collections.
The presentation will take place at the Little Falls Public Library, located at 8 Warren Street. The program is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Ms. Jennifer Larrinaga at 973-256-2784 or Larrinaga@littlefallslibrary.org.
