Dey Mansion heads to Lee Memorial Public Library

The Dey Mansion derives it lasting fame as one of General George Washington’s military field headquarters. Thenuis Dey, Colonel to the Bergen County Militia, offered his home to Washington during the months of July, October, and November of 1780. The presentation will cover the stories surrounding Washington’s stay in the Preakness Valley through various artifacts from the Mansion’s military and early American collections.
