Our Collections

The County of Passaic is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of the County, its people, and its places. The Dey Mansion holds a  diverse collection of artifacts ranging from prints and decorative arts, to farming tools and firearms, dating to the 18th and early 19th centuries. While the collections do not hold artifacts originated by the Dey family, the artifacts are representative of how the household would have looked and what the family might have had.

The most important contribution to the collection was the County's purchase of artifacts from the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) -once used in the American Wing. The MET provided these artifacts in 1934 as a permanent loan, which the County acquired in 2010.
